Field Placement Students
A non-profit community-based organization that is committed in addressing the immigration, integration, education, health, housing, social service, culture, and economic development needs of Somali Canadians and other immigrants in Canada through programs, service and advocacy.
SIAO in collaboration with post-secondary institutions, continues to provide placement students in the Social Work field with hands on experience by learning and networking in the non-for-profit sector. We have been delighted in contributing to their Cooperative Education by implementing a structured method of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. This program is design for students to successfully demonstrate essential employability skills outlined by the Ministry of Training, College and Universities.
